Give your children and teens the gift of dance and give them skills to last a lifetime! Involve them in a productive activity which they can enjoy for the rest of their lives. Dancing is so much fun for children, it allows them to stay active in a fun and exciting way. All the while, your child develops important social and emotional skills without even realising it.
Latin and Ballroom dance classes can teach children self-confidence, self-discipline and it can help them to develop work and learning skills, setting them up for success for their entire life. But most importantly, dancing is fun!
Sit down and watch as your child’s confidence in themselves grows as they feel the rhythm and take a spin around the dance floor.
Latin and Ballroom dancing has never been more popular than now, and not just with adults, but also with children and teenagers.
Dancing isn't only an aerobic form of exercise, but also a highly social activity. It can help improve social and communication skills, learn how to work as part of a team, and make new friends and besides all.....it is FUN!
Why boys in particular should consider Latin and Ballroom Dancing!
Since in competitive Ballroom Dancing, a boy and a girl work together as a couple from an early age,
it teaches leadership and allows boys to learn how to communicate with girls, learn to work in a team,
developing leadership skills and a desire for victory.
Ballroom Dancing teaches boys how to respect girls with discipline and courtesy
Competitive Ballroom dancing teaches trust because the dance couples must rely on each other
Being a Ballroom Dancer offers a unique identity that isn't directly attached to a
school clique. This can ease the pressure and can build confidence for them as an
individual rather than copying or trying to impress their peers.
Health Benefits of Dancing
1. Improves Physical Health
Dancing is a great form of exercise, and a love of dance from an early age can help motivate kids
to stay active as they grow into adults.
Dance classes can increase your child’s flexibility, range of motion, physical strength and stamina
2. Encourages Socialisation
In a dance class, children learn how to work as part of a team, develop a greater sense of trust
and cooperation, and make new friends. With each class, children interact with other dancers in the class,
and more often than not develop lifelong friendships with those dancers.
3. Enhances Emotional Development
By giving children the freedom to channel their emotions and energies in a safe environment,
their self-esteem and confidence will increase significantly.
4. Enhances Cognitive Development
The dedication, discipline and focus children learn and practice in dance classes are important life skills
that will transfer over to school, work and other aspects of their lives.
5. Encourages Creativity
Dance encourages children to be more creative and to express themselves in many ways.
